FIRST DAY : Ground Training – 8.0 Hours

    7:00 am – 11:00 am ……………….. Training
    11:00 am – 12:00 pm……………….. Lunch
    12:00 pm – 4:00 pm……………….. Training
    Review of the customer’s A/C POH, float supplements, weight &
    balance documents, and A/C checklists
    Review of area of operations
    Review of industry accidents
    Review golden rules
    Review of any A/C modifications that may effect A/C
    performance
    Electrical system
    Flaps and flight controls
    Powerplant
    Propeller
    Hydraulic system – (amphibian floats)
    Landing gear and brakes
    Performance
    Amphibian floats and systems
    Weight and balance
    Passenger Briefing
    How to use safety equipment
    Safety equipment that is required

SECOND DAY : Marine Survival Training

    6:00 am – 7:30 am TRAVEL TIME
    (Transportation provided by SSI)
    7:30 am – 11:00 am Training

             11:00 am – 12:00 pm LUNCH (included)

    12:00 pm – 3:00 pm Training
    3:00 pm – 4:30 pm TRAVEL TIME
    (Transportation provided by SSI)

THIRD DAY : Flight Training – 2.0 Hours

    7:00 am – 11:00 am …………… Time Available for Training
    11:00 am – 12:00 pm …………… Lunch
    12:00 pm – 3:00 pm …………… Time Available for Training
    3:00 pm – 5:00 pm……………..Check Rides

    Flight training will be performed in an actual aircraft as close to the customer’s type of aircraft as possible
    If using a customer’s aircraft, a maintenance check will be performed by Southern Seaplane, Inc.’s maintenance staff before flight
    Final testing of overall training course and evaluation

RECURRENT COURSE SCHEDULE

FIRST DAY : Ground Training – 6.0 Hours

    7:00 am – 11:00 am ……………….. Training
    11:00 am – 12:00 pm……………….. Lunch
    12:00 pm – 4:00 pm……………….. Training
    Will cover all material in initial ground training program
    A review of the pilot’s past training records from Seaplane Safety Institute

SECOND DAY : Marine Survival Training – 8.0 Hours

    6:00 am – 7:30 am TRAVEL TIME
    (Transportation provided by SSI)
    7:30 am – 11:20 am Training

            11:00 am – 12:00 pm LUNCH (included)

    12:00 pm – 3:00 pm Training
    3:00 pm – 4:30 pm TRAVEL TIME
    (Transportation provided by SSI)

THIRD DAY : Flight Training – 2.0 Hours

    7:00 am – 11:00 am …………… Time Available for Training
    11:00 am – 12:00 pm …………… Lunch
    12:00 pm – 3:00 pm …………… Time Available for Training
    3:00 pm – 5:00 pm……………..Check Rides
    Flight training will be performed in an actual aircraft as close to the customer’s type of aircraft as possible

NOTE: Marine Survival Training will be mandatory every two years. If the student has recently completed this section of the course, their training will be shortened to two days.
